The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery is well regarded as one of the premier cardiothoracic centers in the world. The division was established prior to the founding of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and was integrated into the academic mission of the medical school in the 1960s. Since its inception, it has earned an excellent reputation for its innovative cardiothoracic approaches, its outstanding team of surgeons and the compassionate care provided to its patients.
The Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery provides the full spectrum of cardiac and thoracic surgery services at three clinical sites; Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami Hospital and Clinics, and the Miami VA Hospital.
