Dentistry (Oral Maxillofacial Surgery)
Welcome to the Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Advanced General Dentistry at the University of Miami School of Medicine’s DeWitt Daughtry Family Department of Surgery. This world-renowned facility provides top-notch patient care, consultation, and treatment for a variety of conditions of the mouth, head, and neck.
The division offers a wide range of services including routine dental examinations, cleanings, and X-rays, and sophisticated treatments such as sleep apnea therapy.
Many cutting-edge clinical procedures also are performed here. These include: head and neck tumor surgery, trauma management, reconstructive jaw surgery, dental implants, snoring, cosmetic surgery and growth factors. The division is considered a pioneer in many of these areas, and as a result, the residency and fellowship programs are highly sought after.
Patient services take place in one of two facilities on the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center campus—the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics Office or Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Patients can also visit an off-campus site located at the Deering Medical Plaza at Jackson South Community Hospital in South Miami-Dade County.
